Peter Ogufere - Our Kikka Staff Member of the Month

April 4, 2017

At the heart of any online business lies the software developers, a team that don’t often get the recognition and exposure they deserve while working tirelessly to keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Today we shine the spotlight towards one of the most loved and admired software developers, Peter Ogufere.

Around the Kikka office, Peter’s known as Mr Nice Guy. There’s always a big smile on his face or an emoji smiley in his emails – and he’s always happy to help turn our computers off and on again when they need it. I sat down with Peter for a coffee (while he sipped a hot chocolate with extra marshmallows) to talk about his time with Kikka.

Good morning, Peter! When did you join Kikka?

Good morning! I’ve been with Kikka since about July last year.

Tell us about your day-to-day role here

I’m a Software Developer, which means I make sure that the website keeps ticking along behind the scenes and everything does what it’s supposed to do.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

I get to build the systems that work to move the company forward and provide our customers with the best experience they can have.

How do you relax when you’re not at work?

I love to play soccer with a group of my friends. I also love to watch Liverpool play, and they’re doing great this season so I guess that might be why I always look so happy!

What would you be doing if you hadn’t decided to follow your current career path?

I love graphic design, and translating my designs into awesome stuff like stickers and t-shirts - So I’d say I would be a graphic designer!

What’s the strangest talent you have?

I can do a lot of acrobatics.

Wait, what? Really?

Yeah! All sorts of things like backflips, somersaults, and danger rolls! Maybe I should change my last answer to Circus Acrobat.

No take backs, Peter. You said Graphic Designer.

You know you can press backspace right? You’re not that bad with computers.

Moving on, what’s the best place you’ve travelled to and why?

Alright! Salzburg, Austria. I’ve spent a lot of time there, it has some stunning landscapes, and I love the winter because the snow is plenty

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Playing Tomb Raider on PlayStation

What’s your PlayStation Network name?

Haha! I’m not telling you that one

Suit yourself! Alright finally, what movie title would best sum you up?

Pursuit Of Happiness!
