Nikki Callaghan - Our Kikka Staff Member of the Month

May 8, 2017

This month we turn our attention to Nikki Callaghan, one of Kikka’s most valued Account Managers. Born and bred in Dublin, she ventured to Australia on a holiday seeking the sand, surf, and sun...

But that was nearly 8 years ago now. The Perth weather proved to be even better than she imagined back in Ireland, so she settled down and now calls Perth home. This week we sat down for a coffee to talk about her time at Kikka and find out a bit more about her.

Good morning, Nikki! When did you join Kikka?

Morning! I started at Kikka back in October last year

Tell us about your day-to-day role here

I’m an Account Manager, which means I take care of some of the many businesses that have an account with Kikka. I answer any of the finance questions they might have and give them advice on how we could best help them.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

It's a great feeling when a customer rings in to let us know that the advice I’ve offered or the line of credit they’ve drawn down has helped them through a tough spot or got their business to where they wanted it to be. That really makes the whole team here happy!

And the most challenging?

When my computer doesn’t do what it is supposed to, but that’s usually Peter’s fault anyway

Peter: Haha! It’s not my fault, I just fix what you’ve broken

Alright, settle down. Nikki, how do you relax when you’re not at work?

I usually kick back at home and binge a TV series or three! Also quite partial to some shopping.

What’s your favourite TV series then?

Loving the Sopranos at the moment! Can’t go past a little Sons of Anarchy either.

What’s the strangest talent you have?

I can cook a mean Irish sausage!

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?

Dan, my Fiancé! He came with me from Dublin and I can’t get enough of him. Him, and the friends I’ve made here.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

A few quiet ciders…

And lastly, what movie title would best sum you up?

Confessions of a Shopaholic! Haha is that good?
