To kick off our Kikka staff profiles, we start with Andrea, who you may know as the sweet English lady you hear on the other end of the phone when you dial 1300 41 41 95
Around here she’s known as Andee, or Work Mum; as she’s often there to listen to our problems from in and out of the workplace, offer us sage advice, and also for keeping our workplace hygiene in check by volunteering to clear up the mountains of coffee cups that have accumulated on our desks at the end of the week – followed by giving the messy culprits a necessary ear-beating for it. This week, I sat down for a clean cup of coffee with her and asked her the hard-hitting questions.
So, Andee, when did you join Kikka?
Well, I started working for Kikka back in December 2015! And since then it’s been a joy.
Tell us about your day-to-day role here
My usual tasks involve assessing customer’s applications, general solution providing for colleagues, and customer service.
What’s the most rewarding part about working at Kikka?
The camaraderie within the workplace, and when a customer’s line of credit results in a really positive outcome. Hearing that the funds we’ve provided have helped a business get out of a tight spot, or helped them grow! Definitely the most rewarding calls to take.
How do you relax when you’re not at work?
In my spare time I run a dog grooming business, and take my Great Dane out for walkies! Although, it looks like he’s walking me most of the time!
You often call him your little puppy, but he’s almost mythical in size! Tell us about him
Jet certainly is a big boy! But he’s a big sook when there’s a thunderstorm, and climbs into our bed! He’s 6 years old now, a solid 70kg, and if he could stand up straight he’d be taller than my husband, more than 6 feet!
What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
Definitely my husband – after 34 years he just understands me. Well, either him or wine and cheese.
What’s the strangest talent you have?
I can push my way through to the front of the mosh pit at a concert!
Being not much more than 5 foot tall I imagine that’s quite a feat
Yep, I’m not all smiles! I’m not afraid to throw down a hip-and-shoulder to make my way to the nosebleed section of a P!nk concert!
What are three things that are still left on your bucket list?
Travel Route 66 on a motorbike, design my own clothing brand, and walk the Great Wall of China.
I’ll let you go after this last question-
You’re going to take that to the sink for a wash, aren’t you? (Pointing at my coffee cup).
Yes of course! And I’ll even wash yours too
See, I knew you had good manners hidden away somewhere.
What movie title do you think would best sum you up?
