“Kikka’s well preserved secret – the making of Dave and Granny’s champion marmalade”
The cumquats have been picked, the marmalade has been made, and now, Ladies and Gentleman, Grandsons and Grannies… it is time for the official judging process to begin!
Dave and Granny’s Road to The Royal Show has very nearly reached its end now, with the IGA Perth Royal Show kicking off this Saturday. Dave elected to roll up in a much more sensible Toyota Prado, rather than the Harley this year, with the second batch of mouth-watering marmalade for the eagerly awaiting taste buds of the esteemed judges
Dave and Granny’s Marmalade sits perfectly in any regular car cup holder, or atop any regular winner’s podium
The jams and preserves entries undergo taste-testing today, and these judges don’t mess about here. They know a winning preserve when they taste it, and results will be out very soon for all to see. And of course, we will keep you posted on social media
We’ve mentioned before that Dave and Granny’s marmalade is so good it could cause a media hysteria, leading to Granny evading the paparazzi on Rottnest Island with the girls. This week she finally caved, and allowed reporters from The ABC into her home to see how a winning marmalade is made
Winners are grinners, or at least in Dave’s case. Granny opted to unnerve the competition by mean-mugging the camera lens, like a boxer on weigh-in night before a title fight
Really, that actually happened. ABC News caught wind of their journey on the Road to The Royal Show, and Granny had the camera crews in her kitchen this morning! The report will be on ABC’s 7 O’clock News tonight, nationally all across Australia!
Tune in tonight on ABC1, and stay tuned to the Kikka blog for the next exciting installment of Dave and Granny’s Road to The Royal Show
